STERILAB - detailed description

STERILAB, a steam sterilizer with a chamber volume of 25 liters and gravitation deaeration of the chamber (without an air pump), represents a completely new generation of small steam sterilizers for laboratories.

 

The unit has been designed for the sterilization of solutions in open and closed bottles, unwrapped solid non-porous items made out of metal and glass; for the sterilization and thermal preparation of laboratory matters – agars, solutions, and the like. The unit is standardly fitted with a flexible PT 100 sensor; the unit can also be optionally fitted with forced cooling of solutions after sterilization. A wide range of software and the possibility of individual program modifications allows for extensive application of the unit. Its construction solution is subject to three patents and its design is protected by an industrial design (steam generation regulation patented system, unique hardware patented system, patented associated pump function). Thanks to how small they are, a big sterilization chamber, their top quality and wide range of use, STERILAB units are suitable for use at all those workplaces, where top quality, speed, reliability and the highest level of sterilization safety are required.

Basic design elements

The pressure chamber, door panel and steam generator are made out of first-rate stainless steel (ČSN 17 347, DIN 1.4571, AISI 316 Ti). In order to save energy and minimize heat radiation, the chamber is perfectly insulated with ecological insulating material. Sensors, valves, and other important design elements are manufactured by leading world producers. The unit is fitted with a pump to fill the distilled water supply tank and it does not need to be connected to water discharge piping.

Safety equipment

Sterilization programs

  • P1 Solutions - spontaneous cooling 121 - 121°C / 20 minutes, sterilization of solutions in open and closed bottles*, flexible PT 100 temperature sensor
  • P2  Agars – final cooling 121 - 121°C/20 minutes, sterilization of solutions and agars in open bottles, after completion of controlled cooling: automatic tempering of the chamber at 55–60°C for 1 hour, controlled final cooling, flexible PT 100 temperature sensor
  • P3  Arnold 102 - 102°C/ 30 minutes, sterilization of solutions and agars in open bottles*, sterilization with “freely streaming steam”, flexible PT 100 temperature sensor, spontaneous cooling
  • P4 Temperature cycle 100/121/60 -121°C/20 minutes, boiling and sterilization of agars in open bottles for 30 minutes at an absolute pressure of 120 kPa and 20 minutes at a sterilization temperature of 121°C; after finishing controlled final cooling: automatic tempering of the sterilization chamber at 55 – 60°C for 1 hour, controlled final cooling, flexible PT 100 temperature sensor.
  • P5 Unwrapped instruments 134 - 134°C/10 minutes, sterilization of unwrapped solid non-porous items, controlled final cooling, a flexible PT 100 temperature sensor is not used.
  • P6 Decontamination 134 - 134°C/60 minutes, a decontamination program for unwrapped solid non-porous items and solutions, controlled cooling, a flexible PT 100 temperature sensor is not used.
  • P7, P8, P9, P10 Special – modified program P1, P2, P4, P6
  • Change of sterilization exposure parameters: Time 1 – 60 minutes, temperature 103 – 104°C.
  • P11 Service – Service program with useful functions and services, for easy check-up and maintenance.

* Only type – reagent bottle 1 000, 500, 250, 100 ml with a GL 45 thread, complying with DIN 168, Part1, ISO 4796, marked SIMAX, with a blue stopper
