FELASA 2025 Congress and Presentation of Specialized Manufacturers

The prestigious international professional congress FELASA 2025, focused on breeding and care of laboratory animals and accompanied by an exhibition of specialized manufacturers, was held in Athens this year. The event takes place only once every two years, each time in a different country — for example, in 2019 it was hosted in Prague.

Supplying our equipment to animal facilities is a significant market segment not only for us but also for MMM and BMT USA. That is also why representatives of the MMM Group regularly participate in these congresses, and a similar event is also held regularly in the USA. It is primarily a scientific congress, which is reflected in the topics discussed.

The design of our booth was prepared by colleagues from MMM and the result turned out to be very successful. For quick customer information, they even prepared a special brochure showcasing the main products from our portfolio, along with the latest innovations for this market segment.

In addition to the traditional steam sterilizers used for cage and bedding sterilization, we introduced new products at this year’s FELASA: an offer of a range of low-temperature decontamination pass-through chambers and transfer hatches connected to an H₂O₂ generator from our partner company Block. These allow us to offer a comprehensive solution together with our sterilizers to form a complete barrier between the washing zone and the sterile area of laboratories. The second innovation is a project to adapt our Venticell IL Easy and Venticell IL units for hot air sterilization of cages, which we have actively developed in recent months in collaboration with our colleagues from MMM UK.

Just from the very first moments, customer interest was high — especially in our new products, including the disinfection chambers and hot air cage sterilization.

Experts from countries such as Germany, Sweden, the UK, Spain, and Australia visited our booth seeking more information. The growing interest in hot air sterilization of cages compared to standard steam sterilizers is due to several advantages: smaller size, easy maintenance, no need for water treatment or steam source, low weight – taking into consideration the limited ceiling load capacity in old buildings, and easy assemblage.
