The traditional fair that has changed its name several times (Mefa / Hospimedica / Medical Fair) has been trying for several years already to find its identity and to fight against low attendance and occupancy of the exhibition premises by the exhibitors.
It was the reason why we were quite reserved when we were deciding this year’s participation in this event. Despite of smaller area of our exhibition as compared to the previous years, all our products offered for health care services were represented in our exposition, including the wide range of Dr. Weigert products assortment offered by us within our exclusive sales representation for the Czech Republic.
The great campaign of the exhibition organizer Veletrhy Brno resulted in the same occupancy of the exhibition area by exhibitors as in the last year. The exhibitors’ group changed principally. The existing national companies whose interest in exhibitions in the Czech Republic has been gradually decreasing were replaced by new foreign exhibitors, mainly from Brazil, Turkey, Ukraine, Taiwan, and China. It follows from the statistical data that the interest of foreign exhibitors increased by 27%.
We experienced larger foreign participation this year also thanks to the trade missions from Vietnam, Denmark, Bulgaria, Slovakia, Poland, Hungary, and Russia. Veletrhy Brno with the support of the Czech Trade Agency and Association of Manufacturers and Suppliers of Medical Devices make efforts every year to organize these missions.
The trade fair was also accompanied with a rich programme. We can mention., for example, the Day of Hospitals , the 3rd International Congress of Miniinvasive and Robotic Surgery, the 8th International Podiatric Symposium, and the Conference eHealth Days 2008. The most important for us, however, was the 4th Annual Conference of the Czech Association for Sterilization – STERIL.CZ where we were actively and repeatedly represented by our own presentations and an exhibition next to other, mainly competitive companies like Getinge, Belimed, Matachana, Cisa, etc. This year, more than 200 national and foreign participants discussed traditionally the actual problems and trends in the field of central sterilizations.
