This year is very dynamic not only in the Czech Republic, but also in Slovakia. A number of significant projects are being prepared, while long-term investments are being completed—whether modernizing existing pavilions or constructing brand-new healthcare facilities. Among these projects are several implementations in healthcare facilities in Brno.
University Hospital Brno – Central Sterilization – Washer Replacement
In the Central Sterilization department this year, we replaced six washer-disinfectors with new Miele/Steelco PWD 8626 models and simultaneously commissioned a central detergent dosing system from Dr. Weigert. The total value of this modernization amounted to CZK 20 million.

University Hospital Brno – Central Bed Processing Unit – Replacement of Mattress and Bed Disinfectors
We also succeeded in a public tender for the modernization of the Central Bed Processing Unit at FN Brno, under which we will supply MMM and Steelco equipment. The implementation will be demanding and keep us busy for several months, mainly due to the complex logistics of transporting large disinfectors to the installation site. Currently, the site is awaiting the preparation of a construction pit and an underground corridor to enable their transport.
The project is also related to the site preparation for the new Clinic of Gynecology, Obstetrics, and Neonatology at FN Brno. As part of the supply, two Vacudes 3001 mattress disinfectors from our parent company MMM and two LC 80 bed disinfectors from Steelco worth CZK 32 million will be installed.
University Hospital Brno is the second-largest healthcare facility in the Czech Republic and ranks among leading European hospitals. It was founded by the Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic. University Hospital Brno is the Hospital of the Year 2025 in the Outpatient and Inpatient categories.

Centre for Cardiovascular and Transplant Surgery Brno (CKTCH Brno) – New Sterilization Unit
In the Central Sterilization department, we are finalizing the delivery of two BMT STERIVAP 6612-2 steam sterilizers worth CZK 5 million. The Centre for Cardiovascular and Transplant Surgery is one of the most prominent cardiac surgery facilities in the Czech Republic and the largest transplant center in Moravia.
New CKTCH building on the FN Brno premises and installation of steam sterilizers at CKTCH
The reason for constructing the new CKTCH facility on the FN Brno premises was the inadequate space at the existing site within St. Anne's University Hospital in the city center. The new center will improve care in cardiovascular and transplant medicine while helping shorten wait times for specialized procedures.
The building, featuring seven above-ground and two underground floors, utilizes modern energy technologies. The primary heating and cooling sources are geothermal boreholes up to 300 meters deep supplemented by ground/water heat pumps, with a photovoltaic power plant installed on the roof.
The new facility will allow for the hospitalization of several dozen more patients than the current premises and expand operating theater capacity. The project was funded by European Union funds through the Czech Republic's National Recovery Plan, the state budget, and CKTCH's own resources. Total investment costs exceeded CZK 3 billion.
St. Anne's University Hospital in Brno (FNUSA) – New Sterilization Units
We recently modernized sterilization units in the Surgery and Urology departments by replacing three STERIVAP steam sterilizers valued at CZK 7 million.
